Morreu ontem, 19, Andy Hummel da banda de rock dos anos 70, Big Star. O baixista tinha 59 anos e lutava contra um câncer há dois anos.
A banda originalmente era composta por Hummel (baixo), Jody Stephens (bateria), Chris Bell (guitarra) e Alex Chilton (vocal). O único integrante que continua vivo é o baterista.
Hummel participou dos principais discos do Big Star: #1 Record e Radio City. Em 2000, a banda ficou conhecida pela versão que sua música In The Street ganhou para a abertura do seriado americano That 70’s Show.
