Mais de 200.000 casos do novo coronavírus foram confirmados em todo o mundo desde o início da pandemia em dezembro, de acordo com um balanço estabelecido pela AFP nesta quarta-feira de fontes oficiais.

No total, os casos detectados chegam a 200.680.

Os critérios para a elaboração de balanços variam de país para país e os casos confirmados refletem apenas parte da realidade, uma vez que a maioria dos países realiza testes apenas em pacientes que necessitam de hospitalização.

Em termos de mortes, o número estabelecido pela AFP é de 8.092, a maioria na Europa (3.422) e Ásia (3.384).
